There are so many things behind the scenes that we cannot see but that God has revealed to us through the Scriptures. In addition, there are hundreds of millions of those wicked angels just waiting to be used by God to mete out His wrath on all who refuse to allow Christ’s death on the cross to atone for their sins. Currently there are four wicked angels near the Euphrates River in the Middle East that are bound by God but which will one day be unbound, just like the wicked angels bound in the Abyss that will one day be released to wreak havoc on unbelievers (9:1-11). We also are reminded that there are fascinating things going on behind the scenes in God’s divine plan, things that are other-worldly. Everything unfolds when He says it unfolds, and in the way He has ordained that it unfold. When we read of things like angels (demons) being bound until the exact hour of the exact day of the exact month of the exact year that God has ordained they be released, we are reminded of our God’s sovereign power.
